What is CLAT ? CLAT stands for Common Law Admission Test. It is an entrance exam in India conducted for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate law programs offered by various national law universities and other institutions across the country. CLAT is a centralized test, and the scores obtained in this exam are used by participating institutions for their admissions process.
The undergraduate program for which CLAT is conducted is the five-year integrated Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Law (BA LLB) program. The postgraduate program is the Master of Laws (LLM) program. The exam assesses candidates’ abilities in areas such as English language, general knowledge, mathematics, legal aptitude, and logical reasoning.
Analysis, Pattern Change and Its Impact:
As per the candidates, The CLAT 2024 is easier than last year’s examination. Candidates who have appeared for the exam reported their experiences about the questions paper, particularly highlighting the General Knowledge (GK) section. This section predominantly covered contemporary topics, including recent global events such as the G-20 summit and the developments of Israel-Palestine issues. Such topical relevance not only made the section more engaging but also more navigable for those who followed up with current affairs.
Another crucial aspect of CLAT 2024 was the change in its pattern. These changes seemed to have positively impacted the overall difficulty level of the exam. The new pattern, which was designed to test candidates’ comprehension and analytical abilities in a more streamlined manner, has been well-received. This shift is indicative of CLAT’s evolving nature, aiming to assess legal aptitude more effectively.
